"Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix" is a re-release of the popular "Kingdom Hearts II" video game with added content in the form of additional cinematic cut scenes and new areas to explore. While the game does not utilize a traditional "cheat code" structure, there are several unlocks available in the game that modify gameplay or award extra content, as well as glitches that can be exploited for the player's benefit.

Theater Mode

The "Kingdom Hearts" series is renowned for its deep, complex storyline. The cinematics available in the game are very popular, and by fulfilling certain criteria within the game, "Theater Mode" can be unlocked, which allows the player to watch any cinematic scene at his leisure. To unlock "Theater Mode," the game must be beaten on any difficulty level.

To unlock "Theater Mode JPN," which plays the cinematics with their original Japanese voice acting, the player must beat the game on any difficulty and also have clear data from "Kingdom Hearts RE: Chain of Memories" on the active memory card. To have clear data for "Kingdom Hearts RE: Chain of Memories," that game must be played to completion and saved.

Maximum Drive

The "Drive Meter" is used to summon allies and use special attacks. To instantly fill the meter, speak to Panic in the Underworld. Panic will ask if you want to join a tournament. Say "yes," and choose which tournament you would like to compete in. You will then be transported to the combat arena, with the "Drive Meter" completely filled. Press the Select button, and choose "Quit Tournament" from the menu. You will be transported outside the arena with your "Drive Meter" completely full.

Secret Ending

To unlock the special "Birth By Sleep" ending, certain conditions must be met. Depending on the difficulty selected by the player at the beginning of the game, the requirements for the secret ending are different.

If "Beginner" mode was selected, the ending cannot be unlocked. If "Standard" difficulty was selected, the ending can be unlocked by completing "Jiminy's Journal," and finding 100% of the treasures from the Gummi missions. If "Proud" difficulty was selected, the ending can be unlocked by completing "Jiminy's Journal." If "Critical" mode was selected, the three "Proof" items (Proof of Tranquility, Proof of Non-Existence, and Proof of Connection) can unlock it. They are received by defeating certain bosses that must be encountered in the main storyline.

Quick Summoning

Summoning spells and Special Forms can be made stronger through multiple use, but this requires a full "Drive Meter." In the "Space Paranoids" stage, activate any Special Form or Summoning Spell. The "Drive Meter" will slowly deplete as long as the Form or Summon is active. Just as the "Drive Meter" is about to empty completely, step onto the Solar Sailor. The Form or Summon will be cancelled, but the "Drive Meter" will be fully replenished. The Form or Summon will still retain all of the experience points accrued from being active, however. This allows you to quickly level-up your Special Forms and Summons.
