How to Mod Weapons in Fallout 3

Fallout 3 is an action role-playing game that creates an immersive world rivaled by few other games. One of Fallout 3's drawbacks, however, is that most of its weapons feel underpowered. More modern games are not only reference of entertainment, relatively these require some skills to play and win. The computer generated opponents fight against the players and conquering them is a big deal. The gaming companies provide games cheat methods to the players so that they may thrash the threatening enemies. These cheats are basically the codes that are used for giving a slip to the computer so that the player could win the game. These support the gamers in accelerating to the next stage by just pressing a few keys. Cheat codes are accessible with all genres of games. Nevertheless, it is advised not to use them very frequently usually one can loose the excitement after playing for sometime. These can be used when a software causes issues in computer or freezes it. In some conditions, the developers their selves offer the codes so that the players could be launched to the next grades of the game. Not every individual will acknowledge that games cheat methods are the right things to be used while playing games. They consider cheating as a nasty trait and as a result cheat codes should not be used. However, these become very helpful when the gamer is not receiving any idea how to go forward while playing game. For example, one wants to jump up to other grades without filling out previous ones. The cheats turn into helpful in this situation as the players do not get annoyed. Fortunately, Fallout 3 gave the modding community the Garden of Eden Creation Kit (G.E.C.K.), which allows you to create mods for almost everything in the game--including weapons.

Instructions

    1

Download and install the G.E.C.K. (see link under Resources), then open it.

    2

Select Data under the File menu.

    3

Check the box by Fallout3.esm and select OK.

    4

Expand the Items menu in the object window, then select Weapon under the "Items" menu.

    5

Look for the weapon you want to modify in the window to the right, or use the filter--located directly below the bar labeled Object Window. Once you have found your weapon, double click on it to expand its properties.

    6

Select the Game Data tab and modify the properties you want to change:

By increasing Health, you increase the weapon's durability, meaning its condition will degrade less quickly, and it will require repairs less often.

By increasing Reach, you can increase the effective range of a melee weapon.

By increasing Fire Rate, you can increase a weapon's rate of fire, meaning that the weapon will fire more quickly and go through ammunition more quickly.

By decreasing Spread, and Min Spread, you can increase a weapon's precision, ensuring that all of your shots will land closer together.

By increasing Crit Dmg, you can increase the additional damage caused by a weapon whenever it inflicts a critical hit.

By decreasing Value, you can make a weapon less expensive to purchase and repair. On the other hand, you will also make less money if you attempt to sell the weapon.

By increasing Damage, you can increase the damage a weapon deals per hit.

By altering Ammo Use, you can change the amount of ammunition a weapon uses per shot. Setting Ammo Use to 0 means that a weapon consumes no ammunition, meaning you will never have to reload.

By increasing Crit % Mult, you increase the probability that a critical hit will occur. Setting this value to 100 will cause the weapon to inflict critical hits with every shot.

You can also alter the Crit Effect entry so that a weapon has a special effect occur whenever it inflicts a critical hit. VictoryRifleKnockdownSpell, for instance, causes enemies to be knocked onto their backs whenever the weapon scores a critical hit.

Finally, under Art and Sound, you can alter the Projectile entry to change the type of projectile fired by your weapon. Simply by changing this one property, pistols can be made to fire grenades--or even nukes.

    7

Select OK when you are done making modifications.

    8

Choose Save under the file menu to save your weapon mod.

    9

Use Fallout Mod Manager or the Fallout 3 launcher to activate your mod, and launch the game to test your weapon mod.
