How to Earn Trophies on NCAA Football 10

NCAA Football 10 is EA Sports' (a brand of Electronic Arts) answer to bringing the college football experience to your gaming console. Trophies are the goal of the game, and NCAA 10 offers plenty; for maximum trophy opportunities, though, you need to play your game right, from the kickoff. Forget school pride, too, since the top-ranked NCAA teams are your ticket to trophy domination. On your way to the top -- platinum trophy -- win your way through trophies in Dynasty Mode, Exhibition, Road to Glory, Season Showdown and a batch of miscellaneous trophies.

Instructions

    1

Choose Season Showdown mode and select your team. This step is critical for earning trophies, because the team you choose is the one you establish and hone your levels. Higher leveling leads to more opportunities for trophies.

    2

Play your team through your first Dynasty Mode. This is fairly easy, but can score you several trophies. For your first Dynasty game, choose a big 9 school like USC, Florida, OSU, LSU or the Fighting Irish, instead of your alma mater. Getting through Dynasty mode against the top 9 increases your future recruiting potential.

    3

Play against a non-BCS or Automatic Qualifier team. Best bets for this Dynasty are Boise State, Utah, New Orleans, Georgia State, Jacksonville, USF or other Sun Belt Conference teams. Get an undefeated season in this Dynasty mode, and you'll gain an invitation to a BCS bowl game. You also gain a trophy for your undefeated season.

    4

Get through Family mode. Family mode is a necessary hurdle that offers several trophies. Family mode is a stripped down version of regular play, with all the controls combined into the "X" button. Nearly everything in Family mode is on autopilot, so winning the trophy is just a matter of winning a ridiculously easy game.

    5

Get on the Road to Glory by winning three high school games in the state playoffs. To get the trophy, however, you have to also win a state championship game. Choose a Starter school and use practices to surpass the depth of other players. Practice games give you an opportunity to collect points by getting first downs, getting out of tackles and making touchdowns. Work practice games to boost your depth to 0. The trophy goes to you for being a starter.

    6

Win your first three state championship games to become a 5-star prospect. You'll earn a Big Fish trophy.

    7

Gain leaderboard trophies by boosting your position in your school. There are two leaderboards: online and offline. To check your competition, go to the Road to Glory main menu, then to Stats and Records, Leaderboards, Offline or Online, then the school or conference you are targeting. Play to get your score up past the leaders in each category to win trophies.

    8

Win your way to the Season Showdown for more trophy opportunities. Each game adds points to your overall score. Reach an overall level of 10, found in the top-left corner of the screen, and you get an easy trophy. Picking plays that demonstrate good sportsmanship, like taking a knee or punting, contribute to your score; don't rack up the score for no reason, or you'll lose the sportsmanship points.

    9

Rack up skill points in Season Showdown by making user plays for a Mad Skillz trophy. Block kicks, intercept, QB sack, tackle for negative yardage, or swat the ball for points.

    10

Boost your strategy level by setting your interception goal and achieving it. Guess your opponent's play by holding down the LT or L2 button and intervene, gaining points along the way.

    11

Joining or hosting an online Dynasty gets you a trophy when you retire, even if you never play a single game.
