"Super Smash Bros. Melee" is filled with so many "unlockables" and secrets that it is difficult to imagine finding them all without help. While the Internet abounds with guides that explain how to unlock hidden characters and stages, there are also lesser-known cheats that you can try out to get a few more hours of fun out of this classic game.

Play As Master Hand

Take advantage of this glitch in the character-selection screen to play as the game's boss, Master Hand, in a VS. Match. Plug one controller into the GameCube's third slot and one into the first or second slot. At the main menu, select a regular VS. Match and proceed to the character-select screen. Move the third controller's cursor down to the "Name Entry" panel without moving over any of the character portraits at the middle of the screen. Select a character with the other controller then move its cursor to the "Back" button. Press the "A" button simultaneously on both controllers. The latest games are not just reference of entertainment, somewhat these need some abilities to play and win. The computer developed opponents fight against the gamers and conquering them is a big deal. The gaming companies deliver games cheat methods to the players so that they could thrash the violent enemies. These cheats are basically the codes that are used for supplying a slip to the computer so that the player could win the game. These facilitate the gamers in growing to the next step by just pressing a few keys. Cheat codes are offered with all kinds of games. Even so, it is advised not to use them very quite often usually one can loose the enjoyment once playing for sometime. These can be used when a software reasons problems in computer or freezes it. In some cases, the developers on their own provide the codes so that the players could be introduced to the next levels of the game. Not every person will agree that games cheat systems are the right things to be used while playing games. They think about cheating as a terrible trait and therefore cheat codes should not be used. However, these become very helpful when the gamer is not getting any hint how to go onward while playing game. For case, one wants to jump up to other grades without finishing previous ones. The cheats come to be valuable in this situation as the players do not get disappointed. If you are taken to a screen other than that stage select screen, go back and try again making sure that you press both buttons at the same time. Once you reach the stage-select screen, choose a stage as usual and begin play as Master Hand.

Alternate Music

Many of the stages in the game have alternate music that corresponds to the game that stage was originally part of. To have the game play the alternate music, hold down either the "L" or "R" button while selecting the stage. Press the "A" button to select the stage as usual. This trick works for the following stages: Great Bay, Hyrule Temple, Icicle Mountain, Big Blue, Yoshi's Island, Onett, Pokmon Stadium, both Mushroom Kingdoms, Battlefield and Final Destination.

Random Character Tournaments

Especially since this game has been out for so long, many players will have found a few characters that they constantly choose in tournaments. Set up a random character tournament to have all players use a different character each round. Choose either the Winner Out or Loser Out tournament mode. On the character screen hold both the "L" and "R" buttons to set your character to "Ditto," an amoeba-like Pokmon that essentially represents a random-character option.

Longer Shield

During play, instead of pressing one of the shoulder buttons ("L" or "R") down all the way, press them only slightly. This will generate a much larger shield than usual that also lasts longer than the standard shield. The tradeoff is that this shield is weaker and can be broken by especially damaging attacks.
