How to Fix Errors on Diablo 2 Hero Editor

The Hero Editor for "Diablo II" is an unofficial program that allows players to modify their "Diablo II" character in ways not intended--or even considered--by the game's programmers, giving new statistics, skill combos and weapon proficiencies. Support for the Hero Editor can be hard to come by, so error messages can be baffling. But there's a simple solution: errors in the "Diablo II" Hero Editor are caused by outdated versions, incorrect installs and incompatibilities with modern versions of Windows. Modern games are not simply reference of entertainment, relatively these need some skills to play and win. The computer generated opponents fight against the players and conquering them is a big deal. They look at cheating as a dreadful trait and consequently cheat codes should not be used. However, these become very helpful when the gamer is not having any hint how to go ahead while playing game. For illustration, one wants to jump up to other levels without completing previous ones. The cheats turn into very helpful in this circumstance as the players do not get disappointed. In this last instance, Compatibility Mode needs to be enabled.

Instructions

Log into Windows with an account that has Administrator privileges. Download the latest version of the "Diablo II" Hero Editor from the Resources section and double-click to unzip.

Run the file "Setup.exe." If your version of Windows requires you to right-click and select "Run as Administrator" in order to install with full Admin privileges, do this. Follow the onscreen prompts to install the latest version of the Hero Editor. If you are asked whether you want to overwrite an old installation, do so.

Right-click the file "Diablo II Hero Editor.exe" and select "Properties." Click the "Compatibility" tab.

Set the program to run in Compatibility Mode for Windows 95 and click "Ok."

Run the "Diablo II" Hero Editor as an Administrator, either by opening within an account with Administrator privileges or by right-clicking and selecting "Run as Administrator" to access the program's features without errors.
