In "Escape the Museum," a PC adventure game created by Gogii Games, you play as Susan Anderson, a curator for the National Museum of History. After a devastating earthquake reduces the exhibits to shambles, Susan must search the building for her daughter and other survivors. "Escape the Museum" features 25 puzzles, mini-games and 60 hidden object levels.
Mini-Games
There are two types of mini-games in "Escape the Museum." In the first, you must find the pieces of a painting and re-construct the original work of art. The second mini-game is more difficult. You must balance weights against an object on the opposite side until both sides are equal and the meter lands in the "green zone," allowing you to take the artifact. Weights are adjustable but only go up to 200 pounds, so the best way to solve this puzzle is to note the weight of the object--usually over 200 pounds. Then place a 200-pound weight on the scale and gradually increase the second weight until you're in the green zone.
Finding Objects
Most hidden object games are pretty straightforward--just stare at the screen until you glimpse the object, which is usually camouflaged against a similar color or pattern. But objects are often hidden behind other objects, so you'll need to manipulate items on the screen to find what you need. The game makers have a preference for hiding objects at the sides of the screen, so you'll probably want to look there first. Try moving your cursor around until it pulsates once, meaning you've located something you need. To complete the board quickly, click on the middle drawer beneath the computer monitors and take the key. Open the drawer inside the brown cabinet to get the VHS tape. Place the tape in the input section in the window below the clock. Press the record button, and once the light disappears eject the tape. Then place the VHS tape in the output section. When the machine powers up, click grate, light 1 and light 2 in that order.
