Released on October 25, 2007, The Scruffs is a mystery puzzle game that places you in the role of The Scruff family as you scour your home for several valuable artifacts. These objects have been hidden throughout the home by Grandpa Scruff, and they may be the only ticket to saving The Scruff family home. As you might expect, there are a number of hints you can take advantage of to making finding these hidden artifacts a little bit easier.
Hidden Gems
There are various gems hidden throughout the house that need to be collected after youve found all of the hidden artifacts. While their exact location may change, these gems usually remain in their own room. Collect the red ruby from the shed, the green emerald from the guest room, the yellow topaz from the attic, the blue sapphire from the pantry and the diamond located in the cellar.
The Gem Door
In order to pass through the gem door, youll need to pay attention to the sequence of flashing lights, paying the closest attention to the last color light in each round. Entering the sequence incorrectly means youll need to start over with a brand new pattern of flashing lights.
Hidden Artifacts
There are a total of 15 artifacts hidden throughout The Scruffs family home; one artifact in each chapter of the game. The Cryptum artifact can be found in chapter 1, the Australian Boomerang in chapter 2, the Austrian Skis in chapter 3, the American Civil War Horn in chapter 4, the African Maasai Shield in chapter 5, the Russian Babushka Dolls in chapter 6, the Native American Stone Mallet in chapter 7, the Japanese Samurai Katana in chapter 8, the Victorian Brooch in chapter 9, the Arabian Golden Lamp in chapter 10, the South American Inca Mask in chapter 11, the Chinese Ming Vase in chapter 12, the Persian Carpet in chapter 13, the Indian Maharaja's Jeweled Turban in chapter 14, and the Deep Sea Black Pearl in chapter 15.
Using Bones
Bones can be used in The Scruffs to receive an in-game hint. You will start the game with only three bones, but there is one additional bone hidden in every single room of the house.
