Westward 3 is an Old West video game that tries to recreate the feel of pioneer life in the northern Californian wilderness during the Gold Rush. As a player, you must use one of three pioneers to gain a fortune in their ever-growing settlement. You must fight bandits, hunt animals, pan and mine for gold and start a colony, but none of it is exactly easy. Some hints and cheats may be beneficial.

One of the hardest things to do in Westward 3 is to make enough money to advance your settlement quickly. Throughout the game, the character of Micah will long for a white rabbit (to make a white rabbit pelt from). There is only one way to do this, and it is to convert all your farms to carrot farms. This will take some time, but the benefits of doing this will greatly outweigh the hardships. Once the farms are converted, you must stalk each of the fields, and the white rabbit will show up. Killing it and giving it to Micah will gain you much gold.

This is a random occurrence in the game, but one that can be cheated on. In your towns, you are allowed to build a stable. Before doing so, save your game. Once your game is saved, build the stable and look inside. If the black horse is not there, reload the game and rebuild the stable until the black horse arrives. It is random, but you will get it eventually. The black horse can run faster and has more stamina than the other horses. You can also sell it for a much larger sum of money.
