The Action Replay MAX is a third-party product for the GameCube that allows you to enter cheat codes to give you advantages in games you would not otherwise have. It is possible you can come across some problems with the Action Replay, including the software not starting, codes not saving after entering them and game crashes while codes are activated. There are a few solutions available to you to try and solve these issues.

Instructions

    1

Check the screen for a message stating "hardware not detected" if the Action Replay does not start. If you see this message, turn the GameCube off and remove both the Action Replay disk and the memory stick. Re-insert the memory stick and the dis,, then turn the GameCube back on. Try this a few times if you keep getting the error message. If it persists after several attempts, you need to exchange your Action Replay for a new one.

    2

Check the "Options" menu if new codes you enter do not appear on the code list. Check the "Auto Update" option. If it is set to "Off," switch it to "On." While it is set to "Off," you must select the "Update Hardware" option every time you enter a new code in order for it to save.

    3

Check the different region options if you enter a new game and new codes and they disappear from the code list. The Action Replay can tell from the codes you enter if the game is from a different region than the one you are in. If the game is from a different region, the Action Replay automatically moves the game to the code listing for that region. For example, a game imported from Japan will be listed under Japanese games.

    4

Check how many codes you have activated if you experience persistent game crashes. More modern games are not simply base of entertainment, quite these will need some ability to play and win. The computer generated opponents fight against the players and overcoming them is a big deal. The gaming companies provide games cheat parts to the players so that they could thrash the frightening enemies. These cheats are quite simply the codes that are used for providing a slip to the computer so that the player could win the game. These allow the gamers in growing to the next stage by just pressing a few keys. Cheat codes are attainable with all types of games. Nevertheless, it is advised not to use them very frequently otherwise one can loose the excitement just after playing for sometime. These can be used when a software reasons issues in computer or freezes it. In some situations, the developers on their own provide the codes so that the players could be introduced to the next grades of the game. Not every individual will agree that games cheat systems are the right things to be used while playing games. They think of cheating as a dreadful trait and as a result cheat codes should not be used. However, these turn into very helpful when the gamer is not receiving any idea how to go ahead while playing game. For case, one wants to jump up to other stages without filling out previous ones. The cheats turn into very helpful in this case as the players do not get annoyed. Too many codes activated at once can cause game crashing. If you have a lot of codes activated for a game, turn some of them off and try the game again.

    5

Check the GameCube section of codejunkies.com for codes if you have entered in codes and they do not work. The Code Junkies Web site has all the official GameCube Action Replay codes. If the code is not listed there, it does not exist for the game. If the code is listed there, re-check the code you entered to make sure you entered it correctly. Make any changes that are necessary.

    6

Choose "Reset Hardware" from the "Options" list to restore the Action Replay to its factory defaults. When the prompt appears, confirm you want to reset the Action Replay.
