Cheats for Zuma Deluxe

Zuma is a puzzle-based PC game that was created by PopCap Games and released in December of 2003. An upgraded version called Zuma Deluxe was created for Windows and Macintosh systems and downloadable for Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3.

The main objective of Zuma Deluxe is to eliminate all of the rolling balls that are moving across the screen before they reach the skull. The player must use available balls of matching colors to destroy the other balls on screen. Use the frog to shoot a like-colored ball towards a group, which will cause them to explode off-screen. As you reach the later levels, the movement speeds of the balls increase, giving you less time to react. Using this code will allow you to slow down the balls and give yourself more time to stop them from reaching the skull. This code requires you to make a change in the game directory folder, so be sure to save a backup copy of this game.

Open the file "levels.xml" in the levels folder within the game directory. Look for the line that reads "Settingsid=lvl11 speed=0.5 start=35 score=1000." The "lvl11" portion of this line represents the level 1-1, so to change the speed of any level, enter its corresponding number here. You then can slow down the balls by changing the speed number to something below 0.5.

Use this code to affect a particular level of the game. You will be unable to change the speed of all the levels at once. Upon completion of a stage, save your game and re-enter the cheat code to impact the next level.

Zuma Deluxe has a number of secret glitches that will not impact gameplay but may interest users. You can witness three of these glitches on the main menu. To make a UFO appear, move your pointer three times over these menu items in the following order: Adventure, Gauntlet, Options, More Games, Quit. This also will play a tune from the movie "Close Encounters of the Third Kind."

If you click on the frog in the left-hand corner, his eyes will follow your mouse pointer all over the screen.

The last level of the game gives you the added challenge of the falling stars. While these stars do not affect the game in any manner, they can cause focus problems for your eyes.
