How to Get Outside the Backlot on "Call of Duty 4"

"Call of Duty 4" is a first-person shooter set in modern day. The online multiplayer features allow players to wage large-scale battles against each other on various maps. Backlot, a medium-sized map set in a small town, has a particular glitch. Using this glitch will get you outside of the Backlot map. This can be fun to explore on your own or use in matches to gain valuable sniper positions and cover otherwise not accessible to players.

Instructions

Go to the center building in Backlot, the one that has three stories, and make your way to the top floor. Use the ladder to get to the roof and climb the ledge to the right.

Look for the telephone pole across the street on the right, and back up a few spaces. Sprint and jump onto the top of the telephone pole.

Position yourself so you are facing the palm tree in front of the burnt house with a turret gun in it.

Pull out the rocket launcher and aim at the center of the telephone pole, without zooming in. Fire and then immediately sprint and jump to the tree. If done correctly, you will land inside the branches of the palm tree. This may take a few tries, so you may want to make a private game to get the hang of it first.

Sprint and jump from the tree to the roof of the house with the turret gun in it. Then walk to the back side of the house that's not facing the palm tree you just jumped from ,and fall off the side. You will be outside of the map and can explore the back areas of the buildings.
