Released to US consumers by Rockstar Games in October of 2002, "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" is the sixth game in a series featuring controversial criminal activity. The first two games in this series were released on the PlayStation and Game Boy Color consoles, featuring overhead shots of character play. Vice City is the second 3D version in the franchise, adding a more realistic touch to console formats such as the PlayStation 2. The following list of cheats can be activated during gameplay at any time.
Weapons
At any time during gameplay, you may activate a cheat that loads your character with weapons. Repeating this cheat code will add ammunition to each of the weapons. There are essentially three different weapon codes. The first weapon code is R2, R2, R1, R2, L1, R2, LEFT, DOWN, RIGHT, UP, LEFT DOWN, RIGHT, UP. The second weapon code, which will replace all of the weapons in the previous code, is R1, R2, L1, R2, LEFT, DOWN, RIGHT, UP, LEFT, DOWN, DOWN, DOWN. The final weapons code can be activated by pressing R1, R2, L1, R2, LEFT, DOWN, RIGHT, UP, LEFT, DOWN, DOWN, LEFT.
Health and Armor
At some point while playing Vice City, you may find your life to be at an extremely low point, prohibiting certain features. To restore your health to 100%, enter the code R1, R2, L1, CIRCLE, LEFT, DOWN, RIGHT, UP, LEFT, DOWN, RIGHT, UP. Additionally, you can activate a cheat code that gives you another health system, called body armor. Press R1, R2, L1, X, LEFT, DOWN, RIGHT, UP, LEFT, DOWN, RIGHT, UP to activate this code.
Spawn Vehicles
There are several vehicles, both common and rare, that can be spawned at any point during gameplay. Make sure you near a flat surface, as the vehicles can spawn and slide to an area that becomes inaccessible. To spawn the muscle car -- the Sabre Turbo -- enter RIGHT, L2, DOWN, L2, L2, X, R1, L1, CIRCLE, LEFT. To spawn the golf cart, which is unavailable outside of the country club, enter the code CIRCLE, L1, UP, R1, L2, X, R1, L1, CIRCLE, X. To spawn the Love Fist limousine, enter the code R2, UP, L2, LEFT, LEFT, R1, L1, CIRCLE, RIGHT during gameplay. To spawn the Rhino Tank, press CIRCLE, CIRCLE, L1, CIRCLE, CIRCLE, CIRCLE, L1, L2, R1, TRIANGLE, CIRCLE, TRIANGLE. To unlock one version of the Hotring Racer, enter R1, CIRCLE, R2, RIGHT, L1, L2, X, X, SQUARE, R1. To unlock a second version of the Hotring Racer, enter R2, L1, CIRCLE, RIGHT, L1, R1, RIGHT, UP, CIRCLE, R2. To spawn the Trashmaster, enter the code CIRCLE, R1, CIRCLE, R1, LEFT, LEFT, R1, L1, CIRCLE, RIGHT. To spawn Romero's Hearse, enter DOWN, R2, DOWN, R1, L2, LEFT, R1, L1, LEFT, RIGHT during gameplay.
Different Characters
You may grow tired of playing as the same character in Vice City. Activate the following cheats to change the appearance of your person, which does not affect other areas of the game. To play as Red Leather, enter RIGHT, RIGHT, LEFT, UP, L1, L2, LEFT, UP, DOWN, RIGHT during gameplay. To change your character to Candy Suxxx, enter the code CIRCLE, R2, DOWN, R1, LEFT, RIGHT, R1, L1, X, L2. To play the game as Hilary King, enter R1, CIRCLE, R2, L1, RIGHT, R1, L1, X, R2 during gameplay. To play as Ken Rosenberg, enter the code RIGHT, L1, UP, L2, L1, RIGHT, R1, L1, X, R1. To play as Lance Vance, enter CIRCLE, L2, LEFT, X, R1, L1, X, L1 during gameplay. To play as one of the members of the Love Fist band, enter DOWN, L1, DOWN, L2, LEFT, X, R1, L1, X, X. To play as an alternate member of the Love Fist band, enter R1, L2, R2, L1, RIGHT, R2, LEFT, X, SQUARE, L1. To change your appearance to that of Mercedes, enter R2, L1, UP, L1, RIGHT, R1, RIGHT, UP, CIRCLE, TRIANGLE during gameplay. To play as Phil Cassidy, enter the code RIGHT, R1, UP, R2, L1, RIGHT, R1, L1, RIGHT, CIRCLE. To play as Ricardo Diaz, enter the code L1, L2, R1, R2, DOWN, L1, R2, L2 during gameplay. Lastly, if you wish to play the game as Sonny Forelli, enter CIRCLE, L1, CIRCLE, L2, LEFT, X, R1, L1, X, X at any time during gameplay.
