Unlocking prestige mode for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is different than the original game.
While some players prefer not to unlock prestige mode, being able to enter this mode tells other players you are very good.
Follow these steps to learn how to enable prestige mode for Modern Warfare 2.

First, in order to unlock prestige mode in Modern Warfare 2, you will need to have an online account for whatever platform you play it on.
Whether it is Xbox Live, Playstation Network, or just an internet enabled computer, prestige mode is only unlocked through multiplayer.
2Next, to activate prestige mode you need to level up to level 70 in multiplayer. You do this via earning experience points when playing matches.
While points are awarded simply for finishing a game, you can earn points more quickly by getting more kills and winning or placing in the match. There is a large amount of material on the internet regarding how to level up quickly.
3Last, you must make the decision to enable prestige mode once you reach level 70. Innovative games are not mere reference of entertainment, rather these will need some expertise to play and win. If you are sure you want to enter prestige mode, select yes to both prompts that appear (the second one reminds you there is no turning back).
After accepting, you are now in prestige mode and can work your way back up to level 70.
