Leading an artificial life was never more in style than when "The Sims" first appeared in 2000. "The Sims 2" launched in 2004 -- originally for Mac OS X and Windows PC, and subsequently for a variety of platforms, including Xbox, GameCube and PlayStation 2 -- and stretched artificial existence to the limit. As in life, status can be achieved in the game through hard work, perseverance and skill, or by cheating your way to a better life. The helicopter in "The Sims 2" is a status symbol. More modern games are not mere reference of entertainment, relatively these will need some ability to play and win. The computer produced opponents fight against the players and eliminating them is a big deal. The gaming companies supply games cheat methods to the players so that they might thrash the threatening enemies. These cheats are essentially the codes that are used for offering a slip to the computer so that the player could win the game. These help the gamers in growing to the next phase by just pressing a few keys. Cheat codes are offered with all kinds of games. However, it is advised not to use them very often usually one can loose the excitement after playing for sometime. These can be used when a software causes complications in computer or freezes it. In some situations, the developers their selves provide the codes so that the players could be released to the next levels of the game. Not every person will recognize that games cheat systems are the right things to be used while playing games. They look at cheating as a terrible trait and consequently cheat codes should not be used. However, these turn into very helpful when the gamer is not having any vision how to go in advance while playing game. For illustration, one wants to jump up to other stages without completing previous ones. The cheats come to be valuable in this circumstance as the players do not get irritated. You can acquire this item in three ways: career advancement, downloading a "mod" to "The Sims 2" program file or by purchase, only on the "Apartment Life" expansion pack.

Career Advancement

Advance your Sim's career to Level 9, and a helicopter will appear for his carpool. This feature is unlocked only for high-ranking careers, such as Mayor, General, Business Tycoon, Movie Star and President. The helicopter will park in front of your Sim's house on the way to and from work. Make sure that your Sim's nonplayer character (NPC) servants are not blocking the landing zone with their vehicles. If you own the "Apartment Life" expansion pack, your Sim can construct a landing pad for the helicopter. See the "Helicopter Landing 2" video for a sample.

Mods

Unlike earlier incarnations of "The Sims" game, "The Sims 2" allows users to create custom modifications to their Sim's universe. Part-time programmers, also known as modders, have made the addition of status symbols in the world of "The Sims 2" easily accessible to avid players. Many websites offer custom modifications, such as FileFront. Once you have downloaded the mod, unzip the files to the "Download" folder in your "The Sims 2" program file, which is often located in "My Documents." This file is intended for Windows PC users only.

Purchase

If you cannot wait for the virtual career of your Sim to advance naturally, and if you own the "Apartment Life" expansion pack, your Sim can purchase a helicopter and pre-empt the highbrow status of a Mayor or Movie Star. The helicopter can be found under the "Car" tab for the hefty price of $20,000. A helipad, with an obtrusive size of 12-by-12, must also be purchased for $1,200. Although the helipad is bulky, it can be placed on a flat rooftop.

Considerations

There are no known cheats to acquire the helicopter without the use of mods, so if you own "The Sims 2" on a platform other than the Windows PC, you will have to advance your career or purchase the helicopter outright. If you wish to own a helicopter, make sure you design your Sim's home to accommodate the 12-by-12 area of space needed for a helipad. Alternatively, make sure your NPC servants have left before your Sim leaves or arrives from work. Lastly, the helicopter is a viable arena for "woohoo," or sex, in "The Sims 2."
